Heart Disease Bulletin Board - Terms of Usage
Q. What topics can be discussed ?
A. The Heart Disease Bulletin Board is meant to be a meeting place where you can discuss any topic or pose any questions or requests related to Heart Disease.
Q. How can I make use of the medical information provided here ?
A. Any medical opinions expressed here represent general opinions and are not intended as specific consultative recommendations for any particular patient. Postings are not intended for inclusion in any specific patient's medical records as hard copy. These opinions are intended solely as part of an open forum discussion of complex medical and ethical issues and should not be construed as an authoritative recommendation. For more details, visit the Disclaimer page.
Q. How can I read topics discussed in earlier postings ?
A. I will be archiving interesting topic threads in the BB Archive page, and a list of these topics will be available there.
Q. Are there rules of behavior ?
A. Yes. People using the board should treat others with respect. If there is heated discussion of any topic, those discussions must remain civil. If you're tempted to flame someone, think of Mark Twain's dictum: "It were not best that we should all think alike; it is difference of opinion that makes horse races."
Also since people of all ages may visit this board, keep in mind that posts that use offensive language will be removed. People who routinely make such posts will face loss of board privileges.
Q. Is this a "child-safe" bulletin board?
A. No. Although an effort will be made to keep posts on-topic and to remove offensive posts, no one will be monitoring the board on a 24-hour basis. The board will be used by people of all ages with an interest in Heart Disease.
Q. Where can I find answers to other questions about Heart Disease and this site?
